Also, no amount of sealer, and no amount of prompt wiping up keeps oily foods from leaving dark marks. I'm hoping to oil the whole thing to even out the blotches |

I must agree with Christina. ANY OILY SUBSTANCE will leave a permanent mark on pietra cardosa. We started getting dark marks on our pietra the first night after installation. It is an extremely, extremely rustic look. |

Christina: You are correct Christina. Slate won't really do too well in a regular kitchen environment. There are customers though, that appreciate the way it wears and ages. Part of the look I suppose. |

WARNING!! Though beautiful, may not be a good choice for a working kitchen. It absorbs oil which will stain,it scratches VERY easily,& it will ding & pit.
I had it installed & within 2 months it looked very worn.I did contact AG with my concerns, & was assured that it was properly sealed upon installation. |
